The issue here does seem to be whites imitating blacks. However imitation is the highest form of flattery. That Spongebob/Burgerking comercial was worse than this. It featured a black rapper and the burger king dancing like Mc Hammer. It was a about asses and Spongebob, and it was aimed at selling kids meals. I think the one you are referencing is a satire making fun of upper middle class white kids "growing up in the cul-de-sacs" who no nothing of African American culture or how culture impacts music but appropriate it none the less.
