I might ruffle some feathers with this. Sigh. Deep breathe. I’m going in. I want Janet Jackson to retire from music. She has classic music that we can cherish forever but as of late, what she has been dropping has been subpar. I think that she is at the point where it would be in her best interest to focus her energy on acting. She actually is a good actress. She isn’t a bad artist either, she just…. is boring and old. Lets be honest. There are too many hot young things running around in music today and competition among them is even getting thick. It is coming to the point where some people are even bored with Beyonce and she has only be around about 10 years. So you can imagine the mileage on Janet. Janet I love you. You are beautiful and talented. You have made your mark in music history. Please, please, go sit your a** down somewhere.

I am a huge Janet fan but I must admit that her music and the accompanyting videos have left a lot to be desired as of late. I don’t think retirement is called for- but a major change is how she prsents herself is long overdue.

She can do a “fairwell” tour like Cher did. LOL
She’ll let people know she’s retiring, perform all her classics while not having to stress herself with coming up with new music and still end up being on stage for yeeeeaaaarrrrsssss.

I’m a huge Janet fan as well, but I agree her time has come to an end. It’s been a good ride, Janet. The tour is not a bad idea as long as she doesn’t call it “This is it”. The world can’t handle loosing two major Jacksons in a short time span. (R.I.P MJ)

These last couple months have left this Janet-stan desiring more but I agree with Shawna; she needs a new source of inspiration….all these “hot young things running around” are doing warmed-over, sexed-up versions of her 1990s personas, so it makes no sense for her to compete with them. Hopefully, she really is taking control of the business aspects of her music being shared in the mainstream/distributed and not waiting for the label to do something (other than make her another Barbie in the pop doll race). Janet needs to act her age, leave the hip-hop influences alone and be her true, revolutionary self; her albums from Control to All For You were so successful because each was unlike its predecessors or other Top 40 offerings.
BTW I’m sick of Bore-yawn-cé because she is everywhere, all the time, doing the “mostest”, talking (with her I’m-not-arrogant-I-just-know-I’m-great flippancy) about the same thing, being regarded as a lady when she does a lot of the same hoe-shyt other female artists get called out for (i.e. T&A in all her dance routines and practicing for her next gynocological exam when she steps out of a car) and not adding much to the music scene other than the whole “I write records the way that I talk” shctick. And she ought to be exiled from the human race after such b.s. as trashy as video phone (and none of these parents can figure out why their daughters are sexting?!?!).
