Hope Is Fading For Obama?

Freshjive has developed a new t-shirt for sale expressing their opinion on President Obama and the hope that he once brought. We all remember the cherished hope equates to Obama t-shirts that were popular during his run for presidency. Now that he has won, it appears that many people are not as happy with Obama and expected more from him. I am not well versed in all that is politics but here is my take on it. Obama is not a miracle worker. He said it himself that it may take more than one term as president for him to make any real dents in this country’s present problems. Also, this is not a dictatorship. Meaning that even Obama must run certain policies and changes he may want through the Senate and House Of Representatives and receive approval before he can continue on.

This is why when I saw many African American’s celebrating as if Jesus was elected for President I wanted to issue them a warning. The expectations for this man were similar to him being the next coming of Christ. In fact, I literally saw t-shirts comparing Obama to Jesus. Stop. Yes, it is okay to rejoice and celebrate that he has won but remember that he is just a man. He cannot turn water into wine and although he is a smart man, he does not have a quick fix for our countries economic issues. Everything will take time. He is not able to swoop in and supa save everybody. Lastly, he is just a man. He cannot perform any miracles. So please, respect his authority and position but do no place him in a position of a savior. He is a man that is doing his best. Nothing more.

I wanted Barack Obama to win the election to make history and to cement that fact that, Yes – you Can truely be anything you want to be. But on the other hand i didnt want him to win because I knew alot of people would have placed immense preesure on him. people are forgetting that fact that George W Bush made bad decisions in making the US econonmy what it is today, but all of a sudden people expect Barack Obama to clean up another man’s mess. Its totally unfair…

  2. Great atricle,it amazes me that people could be shallow enough to beleive that Obama was going to have a quick fix solution to our nation’s problems, he hasn’t even been in office a full year..Don’t forget that the damage from the last eight years is still trickling down.

  3. i soo agree.. i dont think i can say anymore than the article or the comments.. but i wil say its a shame that ppl think that the situation could change in the blink of an eye. but for one thing i think foreign relations have definatley improved and that cant be taken for granted. i am only 18 and im travelling at the moment and ive met some young americans in france whove told me that the reception to them being american is so much better now than it would have been under the bush government. and i guess whether that is completely true or not.. it says a lot.. and things can only get better can’t they.. so people need patience.. the man is not god.

  4. i love the website layout by the way and pink font!
