HBO’s The Black List
I have never seen “The Black List” or heard too much discussion about it but after seeing a preview for the newest volume 3, I will be tuning in. The Black List is a documentary series that focuses on African American entertainers, politicians and public figures and the issues they faced while being Black during their career. I especially love the clip below which features Whoopi Goldberg. She discusses how Hollywood and others tried to mold and change her into what THEY wanted her to be so that she could “represent” and how she resisted it from day one, yet still was more than successful. HBO’s The Black List is awesome and I’m happy to hear about the next installment! I’ve had the wonderful privilege of watching and purchasing the first two volumes. It’s encouraging to have successful people share intimate stories from their life in a sort of one-on-one platform. It feels as if you are actually having a conversation with them. I think its a wonderful idea for you to write a post about it because I agree, The Black List wasn’t broadcast like other shows and many people didn’t get that opportunity of its enlightenment. Good job!
