It is 2010. Times are quickly changing and women are becoming more and more independent. Women want to be seen as an equal. They know what they want out of life, love etc… With that being said, if you are a woman who knows what she wants from her man, would you ever propose to him? Whoa! The thought of it blows me back a little as well. What if there were special circumstances; like you knew he wanted to ask you but was afraid? Now when I discussed this with my homegirl we both agreed that that is setting off balance the foundation for the marriage by the woman proposing. We both also agreed that we want to have a marriage with compromise but would still on some levels prefer for some of the traditional roles to be in place. We also know that most men like to feel that they have some type of control and are in some form of leadership role to some extent. By proposing, you run the risk of taking that role from him. Or do you? Personally, I say hell no. I wouldn’t propose to a man but hey! That’s just LJ. I can’t speak for every woman.
