The s**t is about to hit the fan yet again, over the death of Michael Jackson. His mother, Katherine Jackson, filed a lawsuit Wednesday accusing AEG Live of causing her son’s death by pushing him to rehearse for his comeback concerts despite poor health.
Katherine Jackson’s suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, claimed that the concert production company controlled Jackson’s health because it hired and directed Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray faces trial on an involuntary manslaughter charge for administering drugs to the pop star that the coroner ruled caused Jackson’s death in June 25, 2009. The suit claims that Murray was “selected by, hired by, and controlled by AEG,” a worldwide concert promotion and production company.
“Indeed, AEG demanded and required that Michael Jackson be treated by this particular doctor to ensure that Michael Jackson would attend all rehearsals and shows on the tour,” the suit said.
The lawsuit contends that the concert production company had a legal responsibility to “treat him safely and to not put him in harms’ way.”
“AEG, despite its knowledge of Michael Jackson’s physical condition, breached those duties by putting its desire for massive profits from the tour over the health and safety of Michael Jackson,” it said. It is also said that AEG threatened to end the concert if MJ did not come to every rehearsal despite his failing health.
It is becoming more and more clear that although MJ has been gone for a year, the drama that is involved with his death is yet to be over. MJ had to have known at some point that he was not at his best health. At what point should he receive some responsibility in this as well? I love MJ like the rest and I do think that Dr. Conrad Murray played the bigger role in the death of MJ but there was a lack of concern for one’s own health coming from MJ as well.
In other words, there are several people to blame in this tragedy. Dr. Conrad Murray for allowing greed to compromise his medical practices. AEG for not taking into consideration that MJ was a human not a robot that they could work non-stop. He was a 50 year old man. Also for them threatening him for not working up to pace. Lastly, MJ for not being willing to put his own health and safety above all things. Even if it meant disappointing some fans. If not for his own sake, at least for his children.

People have to realize MJ was 50 years old, a grown man. NO ONE (at lease of what we know) made him take countless prescription drugs. While everyone (doctors all of them NOT just Murray, AGI, etc) is ethically at fault, MJ is still partially to blame for his own death. I love MJ. When I was younger, I was going to grow up to marry MJ. (Thriller MJ NOT White MJ) But his friends and family need to realize that he caused his own death. He spoke death at 50 into his life a long time ago. People need to remember to watch what you say.
