In the spirit of Lil Wayne, T.I., Gucci Mane, Lil Boosie and many others before him, Lyfe Jenning’s career might be coming to a close or at minimum a halt; due to him being unable to leave that street s**t alone.
He has been sentenced to 3 1/2 years, stemming from an arrest two years ago. In 2008, he was busted after he showed up at a house looking for his ex-girlfriend and child’s mother, Joy Pound. In an attempt to find her, he kicked in the door and later fired a gun in the street. Once cops arrived, he led them on a high speed chase and later crashed the vehicle. He refused a sobriety test and was later arrested.
In 2008 he was charged with a DUI test refusal, criminal trespassing, discharging a weapon near a street, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He was later released from jail on a $50,000 bond.
Lyfe had already served 10 years in prison before beginning his music career. Yesterday morning, he posted a message to twitter that read, “I really need u guys prayers today and tomorrow…would really appreciate it”, followed by a longer message yesterday afternoon:
This will be my last post. To everyone who gave me a chance I am forever in your debt. I have had a fabulous career because of you. All I can say in parting is that I have been honest with yaw. I didn’t sugarcoat a word didn’t hold back a single sylible of my life from yaw. I’ve lived a hundred lives in these 6 yrs so I not only won’t, i don’t have the right to complain. I would like to think that I’ve changed lives by changing my own, tho I can’t be sure. But one thing I am sure of is God gives and takes away in measure. He is fair, just and forever. Amen from aman… Smile, its contageous:)
Black entertainers when will they learn? They work so hard for these amazing opportunities and the big “come up” and then they flush them down the toilet like a turd. It makes me sad and disgusts me at the same time. Leave that hood s**t for the birds. In Lyfe’s case there had to have been another way to deescalate the situation between his baby moma and himself. Some people you have to love from a distance and with a court order. They may be toxic to your life otherwise. What a waste. His reflective music made me think he learned his lesson and grew from it.

I saw this, and I was so disheartened. Lyfe? T.I., I was hoping he wouldn't have, but....and, Lil Wayne, well, hey. But Lyfe? Sigh. All we can do is pray.
