Have you ever talked to an old friend or an old lover and realized that you two are no longer on the same level? At first it may seem heart broken, but after the second and third conversation you ask yourself “Why am I talking to this person?” Suddenly you get this epiphany that there was an actual reason as to why the two of you stop talking in the first place!
It’s life! Take it for what it is! Jill Scott says it best in her song “Cross My Mind”. After all this reminiscing she does in the song, the essential part of the song is at the end when she says, “I was never good for you, you was never good for me…I just remember what we use to be.”
For some of you guys, STOP living in the past. STOP holding onto it! Let him or her go! You are only holding yourself back, while the other person is living his/her life like its golden! In order for you to grow, you have to let him/her go!
It may be easier said than done, but if it is, then you just might not be over it yet! People grow up and grow a part and its okay! Love them for who they are and not for what they use to be. You never know, maybe later on in life you two will meet again.
I’ve read before, “If you hoard love, it melts away. If you lock love, it breaks free. If you grab on to love, you end up holding an illusion. When you let love flower in its own way, it stays to support you. When you pass on love, it multiplies beyond measure.”
