Fresh out of the pot of elections, into women’s mouths, lawmakers are trying to force feed the great debate of birth control coverage under the “Obama Health Care plan”. The argument is, wait for it…………….Is birth control a luxury or necessity? The thought of this being passed has me more nauseated than morning sickness. Are we really considering comparing family planning choices to merchandise shopping! Let’s sit back, and examine this from quite a few angles to validate if this is legit, as our country is slowly recovering from the recession.
So many children are without homes/parents, abused, and affected by the financial aftermath of unplanned parenting during this recession. One may view the occurrences as being preventative. Some people shouldn’t have the privilege of being parents. Still as humans, they can engage in sexual behavior. From this front angle, it’s clear and concise. We see it all the time, in a grocery store on the 1st, in the news, or living in poor conditions. We look in horror, and whisper a thought, “why did they have children!” Single parents are raising their children with difficulties. More resources are being drained for affordable housing, food programs, and more limitations in looking into certain community dynamics. Now turn your head to the left. Condoms are only as effective if used properly, there’s room for error. Even in the most idealistic relationship, or casual encounter, accidents happen. In some cases, women and men have intentionally trapped one or the other with a child. This can happen for control and financial gain which can contribute to domestic situations.

On the right side, this wouldn’t be an argument if there were not statistics to support the luxury of birth control/preventative procedures in family planning if not abused. When an unplanned pregnancy occurs; teens, abuse, rape victims, incest, financially unstable situation and mental illnesses, can be easily accepted. However, how do you explain a history of multiple abortions? This is what Capitol Hill wants women to ingest to validate their argument of what insurance should cover. Can you imagine how much this will increase if some forms of birth control are not affordable? Oops, I just threw up a little in my mouth from the thought of this again, please forgive me. In looking on the upside of this, the affordability of birth control will give women a wakeup call about how politics can play a role in our livelihood and choices. We can argue that affording birth control is as necessary, as preventative swine-flu shots. Birth control’s main function is for family planning, it also manages hormonal imbalances. I would love to take 10 politicians with 10 different points, insert them directly in 10 situations directly dealing with birth control and wonder how many would suffer from whiplash of all the angles in how affordability can increase or decrease chain affects in our economy.
Looking down, it’s very insulting to see this even being argued. If everything was affordable, I’m sure we wouldn’t have a lot of issues in our economy. I think it’s kind of backward honestly, how this is being argued. The lawmakers are looking at the biggest value in the equation before calculating the final growing number until the age of 18. Yet, they are not looking at the other values such as an oversexed society driven by media, absence of healthy sexual behavioral promotion, and morals which at some point or another, can also be an agenda. There is no place for politics in the Va-jay-jay, unless the politicians voting are willing to co-parent with a lifetime bankroll. In short, know who you are voting for and their agenda. One can easily go from being in need of a BC refill, or the morning after pill, to digging in your pocket to purchase diapers.

Are we talking about forced sterilization perhaps? Is this what the world is coming too?
