God is good and the devil lives on Facebook. A New Jersey Reverend wants his congregation to leave the evil that is Facebook alone. He claims that it breaks up marriages and homes etc.. I will admit that Facebook and other social media outlets can lead to drama in a person’s offline and online life. However, if there is drama online it is because more than likely there were pre-existing problems and issues in that person’s offline life that were never dealt with. So, the good Reverend can’t really blame Facebook but rather the people who make decisions to do wrong and engage in foolishness. Come on Rev, I know you know better. Even the good book talks about free will. There has to be a separation. A person must be able to differentiate between fantasy and their reality and not let fantasy ruin their reality.
5 Things I’m Sick Of On Facebook
On another note, I wonder how many members of his congregation are going to actually leave Facebook? Social networks are addictive. There are people who create different identities online, or cannot go an hour without letting all of their followers know what is going on in their life in that exact moment. The real question here is whether or not YOU would do away with all of your social networks if your Pastor instructed you to?
Update! It has just been revealed that this pastor has been engaging in threesomes. People, make sure you be careful of who you listen to and allow to guide you in your life. Pay attention to not only what they tell you but how they choose to live their own lives. Does this decrease his credibility?
Thanks Shawn Ross! Bringer of all things foolish and debaucherous!
