This one is for the ladies and some fellas, no shade here. With only a football to preserve his modesty, Chad Ochocinco shows off his tattoos—and more—in his brand-new PETA campaign ad, which urges, “Ink, Not Mink. Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin and Let Animals Keep Theirs.” The ad, which can be seen here, was shot by top celebrity photographer Robert Sebree.
In addition to baring it all for the print ad, the Bengals wide receiver—and star of Dancing With the Stars, The T.Ocho Show, and The Ultimate Catch—also sat down for an exclusive PETA interview in which he reveals why he’d rather go naked than wear fur.
“To tell you the truth, when I was younger growing up, I thought it was all fake—they didn’t really kill animals,” says Ochocinco. “So once I found out what really happens, I had the opportunity to do this, so I really wanted to become a part of it … I’m an avid animal lover.
The Bengals franchise record-holder, All-Pro, and perennial Pro Bowler is the latest athlete to team up with PETA in its campaigns to stop animal suffering. Amar’e Stoudemire, Tony Gonzalez, Aaron Curry, Michael Strahan, Gilbert Arenas, “Sugar” Shane Mosley, and Tito Ortiz have also participated in PETA’s campaigns. Ochocinco hopes that by participating in PETA’s famed “Ink, Not Mink” campaign, he will spotlight the fact that for every coat, cuff, collar or piece of trim made from real fur, an animal suffered a miserable life and an agonizing death… Blah, Blah, Blah, just take it off….
