Abortion in the Black community is just the fruit of Black men not taking their place as men. Women are naturally designed to nurture. The seeds taht they are given by the males in their lives is that they are good for sex not motherhood. The concept that a home. lover, friend or friend with benefits is more desirable than a wife is too prevalent and acceptable. The acceptance and tolerance for the thug and the disdain for the family man in our community is what fuels the high abortion rates.

It is time for the males to stop being driven by getting their rocks off and become determined to build homes, protect communities and leave a legacy.

Most parasites infest the host and neuter them. Isn't interesting that too many men are more concerned with how they feel and their personal quality of life than building something worthwhile? There is no sense getting mad at someone screaming at the wind like the abortion ads. We should focus on defining, identifying and building with real men. We also need to recognize boys as boys and not tolerate the dumb stuff.

I do not believe in abortion. Black men should be held accoutable as these women.But this is alarming how black women are being singled out. And using president Obama along side these untrue so call findings.Where are the facts? Women of all races have just as many abortions. I believe this to be more of a political move. Who cares about the black women/children all of a sudden anyway.This is slander and hateful.Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton where are you? Do you all only represent black men. Sisters we must put our faith and trust in Jesus. Satan is really working in this society.

some people have logical reasons for why they get abortions.I personally think black men should be burdened with getting "fixed" if they don't want children.you'd certainly have less unwanted children around here.

I totally agree with you! This is an outrage and definitely targeting ONLY African American women! We aren't the only race terminating pregnancies! I am also "Pro-Choice" and believe that we as women have the right to do what we feel is necessary, but we don't need this! And you're right there needs to be more proof that African American's have more terminations. Even if the numbers came back and proved this though, does that make the Black Woman automatically the dam devil?? People are to judgmental! I'm here to tell you that "Terminations" aren't going anywhere anytime soon! The Government capitalizes too much off of it! Need I say Warren Buffet!

They could not say anything if black women numbers was not so high. The issue needs to be address and black women need not to worry about what other women are doing Becuse that does not have to do anything with the black community.

Abortion is not birth control. IUDs, pills, condoms--acquaint yourselves with these devices if you simply must have sex. As for this movement, I must say I am rather ambivalent. On the one hand, I agree that we African Americans can least afford to heap yet more ills on our community. On the other hand, while abortion is legal, murder isn't, and there have been too many news stories now about emotionally and mentally overwrought parents who have gone off on a tangent and murdered their children.

First of all, let me say that whatever Margaret Sanger’s motives for establishing Planned Parenthood, I believe that it is a woman’s prerogative to decide whether or not she carries a child to term. I also give credit to those who have the self-awareness to recognize that they are not parent material and who therefore elect not to carry a child to term as a result. Once we start down the slippery slope of policing women we have will have relegated half the population to second-class status. Bodily integrity and privacy are the name of game in a democracy.
Now, having made my prochoice stance clear, what bothers me most about anti-abortion messages or messages about reproduction is the emphasis on female behavior as if women get pregnant all by themselves. If we are going to preach anything in the black community it should be responsibility in our men. I know many black men who have five, six, eight or more children by different women and are not fathering any of these children. I’m consistently amazed by these so-called pro-life proponents who seem more concerned about spermatozoa and ova than they are about the actual children who live among us. We need to concentrate on our kids. On raising children who are emotionally sound and sexually responsible, male and female.
