This weekend Ms. Rihanna and that mouth of hers almost caused a backlash from her fans on Twitter when it was made known that Chris Brown follows her. Upon notice, she decided to follow him back. Shortly after the Rihanna Navy went into full blown lunacy. Rihanna being Rihanna retaliated only to later apologize for her actions.
“@iStan4Rihanna_ its f*–in twitter, not the alter! calm down,” Rihanna tweeted. Shortly after the singer backtracked on her aggresive comments.
“@iStan4Rihanna_ babygirl I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt or offend u! Just needed to make it clear to the Navy! I still Stan for u xoxo.
Look people, are we really expecting her to hate this man’s guts for the rest of her life? It has been two years. I understand that he physically abused her and domestic violence is a serious thing, which is why I would never suggest that she dated him again. However, if she hates him for the rest of her life, would she be healing from the situation? Even if she never dates him again in her life, that does not mean that she has to despise his very existence. This seems to be the way fans and other people respond whenever their names are brought up in the same instance. It is apparent that this woman has healed or at least is attempting to heal from the situation. Allow her to complete the process. I know that fans thought that they were having her back but really they are stalling her healing process and being quite selfish about the entire situation.
Realistically speaking would her carrying around that much disdain for an ex be at all healthy for her? Would she truly be moving on if she spent the rest of her life attempting to avoid him, knowing that they work in the same industry and are bound to have their paths cross? I will answer that for you folks. No. In fact as much ish as I talk about women standing up for themselves and demanding the best from the men that they deal with, I would never suggest that any woman carry a life long grudge against any man that she dated. You don’t have to be friends with him, or still love them, but you devoting energy into hating him can be equally damaging to one’s inner peace. It would be like allowing him to rape you of your energy. It would be like allowing that situation with that person to slowly devour your soul. I think it is a selfish request for her fans to expect her to obsessively dislike Brown for the rest of her life. If she has managed to move on and make peace with the situation then so should the public.
The truth is that no matter how close the Rihanna Navy may feel to the starlet, they did not go through this situation with her. Therefore they do not carry the emotions regarding the situation as heavily as she does. She is the one that has to learn to live with the fact that she was a victim of domestic abuse. The fact that the man she once loved hit her. It is intrusive of her fans to expect to be the determining factor in how she handles the healing process. Sure their hearts may be in the right place but nonetheless they are being overbearing.
What do you think? If an ex did something horrible to you, would you be able to eventually forgive him and release any animosity towards them?
