The Grio recently wrote an article entitled “Why Amber Rose Shouldn’t Be Shamed For Nude Pics”. Out of pure curiosity as to the angle this article was going to be developed from I read it. One of the main points of the article was that she has been receiving negative commentary from the leaked pictures and that she has no reason to be ashamed of them. The article also poured pity on Rose citing that her career has since suffered from the pictures. Que.. The.. Mofo.. Twilight Zone… theme music. Are we really feeling sorry that this ex-stripper’s nude photos were “leaked”? The same woman who will take her clothes off for a bucket of Churchs’ Chicken and half a biscuit. Forgive me for my insensitivity towards another woman’s embarrassment but I fail to grasp the gravity of these pictures being leaked. Seriously, any other woman and I MIGHT feel sympathy for their nude pictures being released, but Amber? Stop. Is it really a bad thing for her? My sources, I call them common and sense, say no. I’m pretty sure she is benefiting from the leaking of the pictures. People are still talking about her aren’t they? This is ultimately what she desires. Then she is benefiting. Can anyone clear it up for me? My confusion stems from a few facts about Rose, her career thus far and her overall demeanor and they don’t line up with her being embarrassed or ashamed in any form of nude pictures of her. In fact, when news first broke about the pictures, my first assumption was that she leaked them herself! Come on! She wouldn’t be the first nor will she be the last celeb to participate in self promotion with the use of their good friend “T” and “A”. Also, I am not convinced that her career is truly going to suffer. Supposedly, she lost some major endorsement deals of some kind due to the pictures. Wink-wink. Yeah, okay Amber. I won’t tell if you won’t.
There are a few reasons why I was not blown away by the idea of Rose being spread eagle on computer screens around the world. These reasons are as follows:
1. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t she a stripper? Having said that, I’m sure she has taken her clothes off for many a stranger before for much less than she has gotten for some of her recent magazine spreads. This is not a new behavior for her. It is not like she was some sheltered preacher’s daughter (some of who also can ultimately end up swinging from a pole) and never showed her body in public before. She made her ass roll like a 24 for cash. She made it twirk for a dollar. Being nude in public was her career.
2. Amber Rose is a hustler. Don’t cry for this woman. She is not an innocent damsel in distress. She is not new to the game. She has been around the block quite a few times and seems to have an understanding of how to keep the urban blogs talking about her. Even if that means dating weed head, bean pole skinny, rapper Wiz Khalifa. The girl is doing whatever is necessary to keep all eyes, or at least some on her. I’m sure the last thing that she wants to do is to go back on the pole. This chick has a game plan. She knows that she has no relevant talent, but people are interested in her because they think she is sexy and they are interested in how overtly sexual she is. So, she capitalizes off that and will continue to until the public finally bores of her. Sex always has and always will sell. Even if it only helps a person’s career momentarily.

3. She told the world that she enjoys performing oral sex on other women. On Angela Yee’s Lip Service show, she announced to the world that she enjoys performing oral sex on other women more than being with a man. Before this, half of the world, never knew she was able to form a sentence and when she does she decided to tell us how she likes to eat the box. The whole time she was with Kanye we thought he was sponsoring a mute chick from the Make A Wish Foundation and when she miraculously decides to open her mouth, she talks about sex. Now, I don’t have a problem with lesbians or bisexuals. Whatever sexual orientation she identifies herself with. But unless you want the world to get in your personal sexual business then you don’t share your personal sexual business. People are very quick to place labels on people. It makes them assume that they have you figured out. However, because Amber has no real talent, or personality for that matter, she has to do whatever it takes to do what? Keep us talking about her. She keeps the men intrigued with her dirty lesbian mouth and the ladies salivating at her designer shoes. Any woman that feels free enough to announce to the world that she like to lick another woman’s honey pot probably has no problem leaking a titty picture or two. But you can’t get mad at the public when that is all we identify you with. Honey, that is the only way you ever represented yourself. We took you for what you told us you were worth. Get it? Oh and One plus one still equals two in this parallel universe.
4. Haven’t we aleady seen her nude? I can recall a year or so ago, when her and her ex boo Kanye were on a beach somewhere and Amber was… wait for it… wait for it…TOPLESS. This woman is in no way ashamed of her body. She shouldn’t be. The girl does have a nice curvy figure. She knows this and that is why she has spent the last year or so posing in magazines like KING and plenty others that I don’t care enough about to remember, leaving very little to the imagination. So, for the most part, we have already seen this woman exposed in some regard. Why is this particular situation earth shattering news or such an embarrassment for her? We all thought that seeing you nude eventually was on its way. Aren’t things going according to plan?
5. The bottom line is that Rose is playing the game. She is playing the same game that celebs before her did in order to keep the news and media talking about them. The same game that the next “Amber Rose” girl will play. They take their clothes off. It is a damn near definite way to keep the media and the public’s attention. At least temporarily. I believe, without a shadow of a doubt that this woman and her PR team leaked these pictures so that blogs can show them, people can look at them and talk about them, and people like me can write articles about her. Amber Rose is winning (are we still saying that?). At least for now she is. Don’t shed a tear for this chick.
