So I tuned in to Hip-Hop Wives on VH1 the other night and prepared myself for the usual hood antics. Jim Jones walking around looking homeless while simultaneously taking out wads of money. His girl Chrissy damn near begging him to FINALLY marry her, and other antics from the cast. To my dismay, I was shocked, embarrassed and confused when a fight broke out between Chrissy and Kimbella Vanderhee.

The confrontation began when Kimbella Vanderhee (mother of Juelz Santana’s son) reveals to the cast that she once had an intimate relationship with Brooklyn born-rapper, Fabolous, who in fact is the father of Emily Bustamante’s child; a friend of Chrissy. I thought I had scene every Black reality TV antic to be offered until I saw Chrissy literally stomping on Kimbella. After my shock settled in and I remembered that this is reality TV so 9 times out 10 this was staged; I thought to myself but wait, are we still fist fighting as grown women? Pseudo fight or not. They still were completely physical with one another. Now don’t get me wrong, I do not think there is anything wrong with defending oneself if approached violently. I would never encourage any one to lay down and take an a** whopping. However, this was not the case. Chrissy was very much so the aggressor while Kimbella the victim of the altercation.

Which brings me back to a second question. At what age should fist fighting among women be a no go? Is the cut off right out of highschool? Early 20′s perhaps? If that is the case then these women are all behind the curve because each of them must be in their mid 30′s. In other words, they are too damn old for this teenage ish. Not to mention that this situation was not worth an all out fist fight. Especially among two grown ass women. As a woman, are you ever too old to fist fight?

I look at women like this behaving badly and it makes sense why our kids are in schools slapping up teachers and bringing in weapons. Look at their potential mothers.
